One of our bestsellers here at Biomazing - the Detox Ginger Body Oil from Safeas - was honoured at the Prix de Beauté in the body care category. A reason for us to take a closer look at this mysterious oil with a powerful effect.

The plant The ginger family is a tropical plant family with many members, as around 85 different types of ginger are known from East Asia to Australia. The flower of the ginger plant has an aromatic and spicy scent, but the main focus of the ginger plant is on the root. The ginger root, also known as the rhizome, can grow to the size of the palm of a hand. The tradition of ginger in Asian and Indian cultures goes back so far that it is difficult to pinpoint a starting point for its use. Even very early texts in Sanskrit, Chinese, ancient Greek, Roman and Arabic refer to the effects of ginger root and its essential oil.

The oil In addition to the whole root, ginger essential oil is particularly popular. It is obtained by steam distillation of the roots, and around 25kg of ginger roots need to be distilled to obtain one litre of essential oil. The odour of the freshly extracted oil is particularly characteristic: it smells intensely fresh, fruity and balsamic, with a hint of lemon.

The effect The various effects of the root and the oil form a large part of traditional (medicinal) cultures and have now also been scientifically proven. Ginger oil helps against nausea, exhaustion and - due to its general energising effect - against listlessness and tiredness. The scent of ginger oil has a stimulating and euphoric effect and is therefore an integral part of aromatherapy. It is also used there when inner blockages need to be released or decisions need to be made and made easier.

Ginger is also used successfully for various physical complaints and helps, for example, with migraines, muscle cramps, constantly cold hands and feet, rheumatism and loss of appetite. Ginger also strengthens the stomach and aids digestion. Ginger has a general health-promoting effect, as it has an expectorant, anti-inflammatory and anticoagulant effect. Its warming effect is particularly useful for colds and flu-like symptoms, as ginger (oil) promotes blood circulation and warms you up.

And ginger oil even has a special place in chakra theory: ginger oil is said to open the sacral (sexual) chakra and is also said to help process the energy of the solar plexus chakra and channel it into the right channels.

Application Safeas Detox Ginger Body Oil is an ideally balanced oil blend for external use. The oil unfolds its warming, circulation-enhancing and stimulating effect when applied to the body. If you like bathing, you can add 3-4 pumps of the oil to the bath water. Once the oil is in the bath water, there is no need to apply cream afterwards, as the body is already moisturised and begins to warm up while bathing.

If you suffer from cold hands or feet, you can apply the ginger oil to the kidney area. This particularly stimulates the blood circulation in the hands and feet - which ensures a peaceful, relaxed sleep!
