Chia, the superfood of the moment, is on everyone's lips. The small seeds have been known for thousands of years as the Aztecs' power food to strengthen themselves for battle. Nowadays, chia is valued for its health-promoting properties.

The positive side effect of eating chia seeds: They keep you full for a long time and stabilise your blood sugar, which prevents cravings. They also aid digestion and help to flush out toxins and other hard-to-digest substances from the body. (Here you can find more information about Chia)

An attentive reader of Biomazing magazine therefore drew our attention to a great recipe that is healthy and tastes like a sin: chia chocolate pudding.

Ingredients
40g chia seeds
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon brown sugar, alternatively rice syrup or honey
2 tablespoons of cocoa powder made from high-quality cocoa
1 pinch of salt, preferably coarse salt ground in a mill
200ml milk (cow's milk or vegan milk, e.g. rice milk) or freshly brewed chai with a dash of milk
Vanilla, coffee powder, coconut pieces, berries or fruit as desired

Preparation
Place the chia seeds, honey, sugar or an alternative, cocoa, salt and, if desired, a little coffee powder and vanilla in a bowl. Then add the desired liquid and mix the ingredients well.
Leave this liquid mixture to stand for 10-15 minutes.

Tip This mixture can also be left to stand for a long time, for example overnight. It is important that the chia seeds absorb the liquid and the mixture becomes gelatinous like pudding. Mix the pudding mixture well again.

Now cover the bowl with a cloth and place in the fridge for 2-3 hours. This step serves to bring the consistency of the chia puddings even closer to the usual pudding consistency and is therefore an alternative step.

Chia energy pudding For a real power breakfast, you can also use matcha or baobab powder instead of cocoa powder. Halve or eliminate the amount of sugar, depending on your taste, and leave out the salt. Water, coconut water or fruit juice can also be used instead of milk or tea. This double superfood combination gives you energy and a good mood!

Garnish
Pour the desired amount of chia chocolate pudding into a small bowl and garnish with coconut pieces, fresh berries, fruit pieces, fresh mint or a scoop of sorbet. There are no limits to your imagination.

Delicious and healthy! Many thanks to our reader
