Muriel and Jean-Marc Dubois founded the company Laboratoires de Biarritz in 2011. The founders' personal, family and environmental concerns have created a natural, sustainable environment for high-quality, organic sun protection.
Ocean lovers Muriel and Jean-Marc explore the French coast themselves in their free time, enjoy surfing and their personal desire was to create a sustainable sun cream that does not harm the ecosystem. Their environmentally conscious conviction and passion for the sea has increased their desire for sustainability and an ecologically sound footprint. Laboratories Biarritz created Alga Maris, a certified organic line of sunscreens, in spring 2012, combining prevention and protection, well-being and respect for the environment to make Alga Maris something very special.
Inspired by nature, Alga Maris creates safe sun care based on a double protection system. In the same way that an egg is protected by the shell and the inner membrane layer, Alga Maris sun products protect the skin from sun damage. On the one hand, there is protection and respect for the environment. This is why Alga Maris only uses mineral sun protection consisting of a mixture of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. On the other hand, there is the prevention of skin damage in advance.
Alga-Gorria®, an active ingredient created in-house, supports natural activity, prevents the formation of free radicals and protects cells from the sun's rays. Alga-Gorria has an antioxidant effect and slows down the skin ageing process caused by sunlight.
