Choosing sustainable brands must be as much fun as savouring the first ice cream of the summer. That's why we put our partners and their products through their paces. The ingredients are just the beginning! Just as important is how raw materials are obtained, how they are processed, how fair and sustainable the supply chain and production is, right down to the packaging, the marketing claims and even the price.
Is that radical? We call it passionately consistent.
Organic is a must! "Purely natural" is not enough for us. Wherever possible, raw materials must be of organic quality. This excludes a great many "purely natural" brands. That doesn't mean that we don't like them, but we think that we can do more for the earth and for people. Numerous studies prove exactly that: not using sprays and fertilisers in conventional agriculture does more damage to the earth, increases the true costs of consumer goods and returns to our bodies via the groundwater - or directly through our care products.
Only when all our 56 Criteria that measure sustainability are fulfilled, we can speak of an ethical and sustainable product, and thus of ethical and sustainable consumption.
