Biomazing: Your creations look delicious! Is baking and making your cosmetics the same process for you?

Hendrike: I am an absolutely passionate baker and bake every Sunday. Whether it's yeast cake with fruit, cupcakes or a sweet tart - I'm a real sweet tooth. For me personally, the two are basically very similar. I develop my own recipes, work with tools from the bakery and patisserie sector and use techniques that actually come from the patisserie sector. I also prefer to decorate with products that are normally used in this area: little sugar hearts, confetti and sugar snowflakes.

a
Biomazing: What inspires your creations?

Hendrike: The shop windows of Konditorei Sprüngli on Paradeplatz or my friend Michelle from Michelle's Cupcakes in Zurich, for example. I'm also inspired by nature and I like to browse blogs or Pinterest from time to time.

a
BiomazingHow important are organic ingredients to you? Which of your products would qualify as "organic"?

Hendrike: Organic ingredients are very important to me, which is why I am now gradually switching many of my products to organic. Specifically, these are currently the shea mousses, followed by some bath additives. At the moment I'm still using up my conventional raw material stocks, but the new organic raw materials have already been ordered.

a
Biomazing: You were one of the first to produce vegan care products yourself. Was that a challenge?

Hendrike: Yes, that was definitely a challenge, especially when it came to selecting raw materials and active ingredients. When you have worked with raw materials such as lanolin or beeswax for years, it requires a rethinking process, a lot of research and even more work on new recipes. It was and is important to me that the vegan products are in no way inferior to non-vegan products in terms of quality.

a
Biomazing: Here's a little secret: you are one of the Biomazing experts and will soon be writing regular articles for the magazine. What is it that you particularly like about Biomazing?

Hendrike: In addition to the extremely likeable founder and the interesting products that you simply don't find everywhere, I particularly like the online magazine that is part of Biomazing. Interesting, exciting articles and background knowledge - I really like that.

Biomazing: Thank you Hendrike, we are already looking forward to reading your expert column and browsing through your brand new Online shop!
